Ep. 05: Family Matters

In this installment, a couple of listeners show us that gaming is a family affair with their nostalgic testimonials. A listener lends us his voice, and the hosts date themselves by referencing Tamagotchi and Napster. Emily reads a translation of psuedo-Latin poetry and we get a visit from the Carrot Man. No big. Just another regular evening at The VGM Jukebox.

  2. Thanks for playing my suggested track! I love the format and vibe of the show so far. That UN Squadron track you use to kick off the show is the best

  3. Neat, you played a track that I suggested!

Famicom Detective Club actually has a really well done fan translation, and it's fun to play through it.

This show is definitely finding it's voice, and it compliments LMH really nicely.

  4. Hey guys, thanks for playing my track! I'm probably not younger than you, unless you're over 30! I did burn it to a CD but that was because this was years later, not at the time when I was playing the game. When videogame soundtracks first started to get shared on the internet I found this soundtrack and then downloaded it to MP3 and burned it to a disc to send to my dad. I must have been at least 18 or 20 at the time? It was just supposed to take my dad back to when we were little :)

    1. Hey Kenny! I loved that you suggested a great song from Landstalker. This is one of my all time favorite games for the Genesis and is a soundtrack that I listen to regularly!

  5. The Colonel's message is full of Phish references! There are at least five song titles in there ("Bouncing Around the Room," "Maze," "Divided Sky," "The Lizards," "The Squirming Coil"; I'm going from memory so I might have forgotten some), and the Helping Friendly Book and a Colonel figure into a mythology that Phish created.
