  1. Another home run, very well done!

Nathan: Drop everything you're doing and play Chrono Trigger right now.

    It's important.

    1. I had to visit the past episode blogs to verify I was the Nathan to whom you spoke! I want to play Chrono Trigger, but I have Phantasy Star IV and Mother 3 to take care of first. I put PS4 on the back burner because of how Mother 3 came to me....but I think I need to get those 2 done first.

I'll put it in my queue. OH MY GOSH THAT IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE EVER TYPED THE WORD "QUEUE" AND I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THAT

...but I'll play it after that, on account of your recommendation.

  2. Okay, First off:
Josh and Emily, you are actual people, with a photo to prove it! E, when you posted the link to the Keith Apicary clip in which you appeared, I wondered which female you were, but I didn't want to ask because it sounded a little creepy. Anyway, that sounded like an amazing trip and a totally fortuitous co-incidence. The Pinball History Museum looks amazing, and I'm impressed that they have a google street view of the place.

I noticed Donkey Kong Jr in the lineup; My dad was amazing at that game. He bowled when my brother and I were kids, and he'd give us change to keep us occupied at the arcade. But he played too; he was really good at Tron, Pooyan, Donkey Kong Jr, and Pac Man. He was also okay at Frogger.

Josh, I can't believe you played that Ghostbusters track! My buddy had that game(same guy that had Herzog Zwei), and that track always stood out to me. You're right about the beginning; that part comes in that sounds a little distorted, and kind of frantic, and then that whistling melody synth comes in. It's a really complicated emotion that comes out of that part. I actually sampled that for a hip-hop instrumental that also uses that iconic drum fill from Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight". The beat couldn't do either sample justice, but I attempted it anyway.

    1. Josh, to clarify, I can't believe you played that track because I intended to request the very same one, I just hadn't gotten around to it.

  3. ....oh, and you guys have to post a clip of Josh doing that anime fist-pumping-3-frame thing! I was laughing out loud at work, just at the idea of it!

  4. Your anime classification was deplorable. Also, you guys are in love and your spouses know it. Cary on nerds! <3

    1. Hey Bologna, Josh wants to know where you think his anime system went wrong. Please submit your thesis as a five-paragraph essay of no fewer than 1,000 words by the end of the semester or we shall consider Josh's schema uncontested. Citations should be in MLA style. Ganbare! <3

As for love, did you know they let you marry haunted jukeboxes in Vegas? That was definitely my big takeaway from the trip.

  5. I thought you guys might find this interesting:
The digital gambling machines actually are rigged to a certain extent. I met an arcade and gambling machine engineer (how do I get that job?) once that explained to me that all the digital machines in a given casino are on a server that can adjust the odds on the fly. This is done to guarantee that the casino never loses more than a certain amount of money per day. Thus if a whole bunch of people get jackpots in the morning, the odds will drop drastically for the rest of the day to balance out.

    1. See! That's fascinating. Thanks, Capsulejay!

What interests me about this is that I don't think the revelation would affect the outlook of many gamblers. After all, someone still has to be the lucky one, right?
